BUSH ECONOMIC PLAN INCLUDES IMMEDIATE TAX RELIEF FOR MARRIED COUPLES AND FAMILIES

WASHINGTON, January 7, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The economic stimulus package presented by President George W. Bush today includes not only accelerated across-the-board tax cuts, but immediate tax relief for married couples and families with children.

For married couples, tax relief for 2003 would average $1,716 per tax filer. For families with children, the average tax break would be $1,473, and for income tax filers overall, the cut amounts to $1,083 per filer, according to White House sources. The plan also includes immediately expanding the child tax credit to $1,000 from the current $600.
