PRO-LIFE U.S. SENATOR PROMISES TO PASS PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION LEGISLATION

WASHINGTON, January 20, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pro-lifers in Washington are capturing the distraught attention of pro-abortion opponents and media, saying they "have their first chance in years to put a dent in abortion rights now that Republicans control the House, Senate and the White House," says a report from Associated Press.

"We will pass the first significant pro-life legislation actually limiting abortions in 30 years," said Sen. Sam Brownback, a Kansas Republican. It is expected that Congress will finally pass a partial-birth abortion ban now that Democrats are evicted from control of the Senate and White House.

Rep. Chris Smith, New Jersey Republican, added, "From our side, we're going to assert even more, with compassion but with earnestness, that the Holocaust of the unborn has to stop."
