U.S. HOUSE SUB-COMMITTEE PASSES PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION BAN

House Version Does Not Include Roe V Wade Support

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a vote late yesterday, the House Judiciary Constitution Subcommittee passed 8-4 a measure to approve a partial birth abortion ban (HR 760) with an exception to save the life of the mother. The bill differed from a similar measure in the Senate in that the House version does not include a 'nonbinding' resolution endorsing the pro-abortion Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision.

House Democrats are planning attempts to cripple the legislation with exceptions for the mental health of the mother.
