France, Portugal And Spain Do Not Object To Homosexual Marriage At Swedish Embassy

STOCKHOLM, May 28, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Swedish government announced yesterday it would allow homosexual marriages for Swedish citizens to be performed at its embassies in Paris, Madrid and Lisbon. The government went ahead with the measure only after the governments of France Spain and Portugal said that they had no objection.

In a press release issued today, Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh said, "It is natural for Sweden to be able to offer registration of partnership at embassies where the host country does not oppose it. France, Spain and Portugal have informed us that they have no objection to Sweden's request for registration of partnership."
