Swiss Police Investigate Suicide Group 'dignitas'

GENEVA, May 28, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In the wake of outrage that a non-terminally-ill British couple were assisted in killing themselves by the suicide group Dignitas, Swiss authorities have begun investigating the case and similar deaths.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Zurich finds the speed with which the assisted suicides took place especially disturbing. In many cases, the BBC reports, "patients were dead within a day of arriving in Zurich."

German authorities are also investigating the case of an elderly German woman who killed herself soon after being married to a much younger man who stood to gain from her death.
