Eugenics was Common Cause Between Nazis and the Modern Left

WASHINGTON, September 29, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Eugenics was an integral part of National Socialism, but in the modern United States, most supporters of eugenics were "Progressives," recalls a September 25 feature in FrontPage Magazine.

David Starr Jordan, Robert Latham Owen, William Allen Wilson, Harry Emerson Fosdick, Robert Latou Dickinson, Katherine Bement Davis, and Virginia Gildersleeve, are among the Progressive figures associated with the eugenics movement in the U.S. Similarly, British leftists such as Bertrand Russell were "outspokenly in favour of eugenics," says FrontPage.

FrontPage notes that many of the eugenics "true believers" in the post-war era campaigned for legalized abortion, contraception and population control.
