Toronto Catholic School Board Hires Homosexual Activist PR Firm to Recruit Students

TORONTO, January 13, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Toronto Catholic District School Board has launched a $750,000 advertising campaign to recruit new students – utilizing the services of a homosexual activist public relations firm. The Toronto Star reports that trustee Maria Rizzo has slammed the expense as “a misadventure that will squander almost a million dollars while our schools are falling apart.”

The CEO of the PR firm, Navigator Ltd, is the very controversial Jaime Watt. Watt was a key member of former Progressive Conservative (PC) Premier Mike Harris’s original election strategy team. After the PC’s June 1995 election success Watt became a member of the Premier’s influential inner circle of “whiz kids”. He was forced to resign when it was discovered he had been convicted of criminal fraud over $19,000.

Watt, a self-proclaimed homosexual, is a prominent gay activist and no friend of pro-lifers. As co-chair of the Canadian Human Rights Committee in 1997 he travelled to Ottawa to lobby MPs for increased "equality" rights for homosexuals.

In 2000, Watt convinced Premier Harris to opt out of “using the notwithstanding clause to challenge a Supreme Court of Canada decision that said the opposite-sex definition of spouse in the province's Family Law Act is unconstitutional,” according to Toronto NOW magazine writer Scott Anderson. Anderson also credits Watt with being a key figure in the democracy trashing, one day passage of the Ontario homosexual rights bill, C5, witnessed by Watt and friends from the legislature’s public gallery.

Stewart Braddick, another self-proclaimed homosexual in the Long leadership campaign, is Jaime's business partner. He was former senior consultant to Mike Harris at the time of the passage of the gay rights omnibus bill.

Warren Kinsella, another top executive at Navigator, was the brains behind the public attack of former Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day’s evangelical views, including those on creation, by mocking them. Kinsella appeared on CTV news, holding a Barney the dinosaur plush toy, saying: "This is the only dinosaur that recently co-existed with humans."
