Ford Motor Company Supports Homosexual 'Marriage' Movement
Toronto, June 1, 2005., (LifeSiteNews.com) The Ford Motor Company has been singled out for its support of same-sex marriage and a boycott of the car manufacturer is being organized by Donald E. Wildmon, Chairman of the American Family Association (AFA).
Mr. Wildmon points out in a letter explaining the reason for the boycott that “From redefining family to include homosexual marriage, to giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to support homosexual groups and their agenda, to forcing managers to attend diversity training on how to promote the acceptance of homosexuality, to sponsoring a “commitment (marriage) ceremony”, to sponsoring Gay Pride Parades, Ford leads the way.”
The letter also includes a website that documents Ford’s support for same-sex marriage: BoycottFord.com. One of the Ford advertisements for its Jaguar division, found on The Commercial Closet website (commercialcloset.com), declares in fine print that: “At Jaguar, (a Ford Company) our relationship extends beyond the vehicle itself. That’s why Jaguar will donate $1,000 for every Jaguar purchased or leased …”
Mr. Wildmon urges that action be taken, “Sign the petition to boycott Ford. Call your local Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Jaguar, Mazda and/or Land Rover dealer (all are part of Ford Motor Company) and inform them you will not be buying a Ford product until they stop their promotion of the homosexual movement and homosexual marriage.”
Alex Johnson, of MSNBC, wrote today: “The fight against Ford is just one of many it (AFA) has going: As of Tuesday, it was calling for action against the Carl’s Jr. hamburger chain (to protest its racy new ad featuring Paris Hilton), Kraft Foods (for its sponsorship of the 2006 Gay Games), Mary Kay Cosmetics and Old Navy stores (for advertising on ABC’s prime-time soap opera “Desperate Housewives”) and NutriSystem Inc., the weight-loss company (for airing its own salacious TV ad).”
A related note is that the Ford Foundation has for years been one of the largest contributors to the notoriously anti-Catholic Catholics for a Free Choice which promotes abortion, euthanasia and homosexuality.
The AFA recently ended a nine-year boycott against Disney after it declared victory as a result of the film company’s change in leadership and sale of Miramax studios.
Another swing of the pocketbook: Christian activist group goes after Ford Motor Co.
