City Suggestion to Tax Churches Gets Shelved after Public Scrutiny

By Thaddeus M. Baklinski

BRAMPTON, Ontario, January 9, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Brampton City Council's plan to look at a study recommending changes to how it handles places of worship has been shelved for the time being.

The secret study was revealed last week and reported on by LifeSiteNews.com (http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2008/jan/08010407.html).

Today a report by NoApologies.ca (http://www.noapologies.ca/daily- news) says that the Brampton Planning Commission has put off consideration of the study until next month, which will give the Brampton Faith Coalition group, organized to present a united challenge to the proposals in the study, more time to prepare their case and present it to city council.

The group is also considering launching a website which may include the entire text of the controversial study.
