Commentary on June 1 News Reports - Hate-Mongering From Abortion Supporters Begins in Reaction to Tiller Shooting
Dear readers,
As you've already seen, the killing of abortionist George Tiller has been quickly condemned by pro-life groups throughout North America and abroad. Our detailed coverage shows the shooter to be a crazed member of a fringe group. As we have said in the past, such a person is anti-abortion and NOT pro-life.
Predictably, pro-abortion groups and leaders, usually not remotely noted for objectivity or factual accuracy, are reacting by exploiting this murder in order to attack the pro-life movement.
Monday, for example, we received this email response to our article noting that pro-life groups were condemning Tiller's murder: "If you think your problems with Canada's hate speech laws were bad before, think again. We are going to use every lawful means at our disposal to rid our country of you fascist hate-mongers." We would seem to have grounds for launching a hate charge against that letter writer who himself appears to be exhibiting fascist sentiments.
There is not one mainstream pro-life group that we are aware of that has ever been guilty of hate and certainly there is nothing in LifeSiteNews that reflects such views. In fact, the vast majority of persons involved in the large pro-life movement are motivated by love. Militant pro-abortionists and gay activists define having a view different than theirs as being "hate". Also, they cannot comprehend how we fight the killing of innocents that is abortion (nothing can refute that biological reality) while never advocating violence or vengeance. They just do not get pro-life.
There is some good news though amidst all the bad. The great success of the March for Life in Canada and the prayerful kudos for the Bishops who spoke out against Obama's appearance at Notre Dame are refreshing.
