INFLUENTIAL WRITER CALLS FOR END TO CHURCH TAX EXEMPTION

TORONTO, Oct 21 (LSN.ca) - Diane Francis, editor of the Financial Post section of the National Post is proving herself a strong opponent of Canadians holding traditional beliefs. LifeSite reported Sept 7 that she attacked social conservatives within the Reform Party as "fringe" and expressed the need to rid them from the United Alternative. Three weeks later she continued her drive to silence those with views opposite her own by calling on the government to rescind the tax exemption held by churches.

While she argues that the exemption is no longer valid since "the role of the 'church' has been taken over by the role of the state" her obvious contempt for Christianity is evident when she says "their members should support them and their causes or they should merge or disappear."
