PC LEADER JOE CLARK'S PRO-ABORTION EXTREMISM

CALGARY, Nov 14 (LSN.ca) - On Sunday, Progressive Conservative Party Leader Joe Clark once again admitted that he is pro-abortion but this time spoke out against a democratic resolution to the controversy. Running against Canadian Alliance MP and pro-lifer Eric Lowther, Clark has made abortion a major issue in his campaign. Clark's comments implied that only men are concerned with the right to life of the unborn and that he would not even tolerate a referendum on the issue.

The Toronto Star reports that after saying that he unequivocally supports a "woman's right to choose", he said, "It is simply unacceptable that there should be a suggestion that . . . 500,000 men in the country could force a referendum on a woman's right to choose."

RU-486 TO HIT U.S. MARKET THIS WEEK

Colleges Refusing to Order RU-486

WASHINGTON, Nov 14 (LSN.ca) - Danco Laboratories is expected to begin shipping the abortion drug RU-486 under the name of Mifeprex to abortionists this week. The Wall Street Journal reports today that the Rockefeller-backed Danco has set the price of the three-pill abortion at $270 (US) which does not include the cost of misoprostol (needed to expel the baby killed by mifepristone), nor the cost of abortionists' fees, counselling fees or other expenses. Not surprisingly, most orders have come in from Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics, but the paper is predicting that many doctors will provide medical abortion with the mifepristone. The drugs can by ordered by abortionists from the websites of Danco, the National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood. (Wall Street Journal, November 14, 2000)

Meanwhile, American Life League (ALL) is reporting that "Colleges from Maine to Florida have formed a blockade against the RU-486 regimen." A lengthy ALL survey of dozens of US colleges found that all colleges contacted said they were refusing RU-486. Campus physicians and gynecologists warn of the "dangerous ramifications" of the RU-486 regimen. "It's an extremely dangerous process," said Dr. Christine Peterson, director of student health at the University of Virginia.

SCOTLAND TO SEND BIRTHDAY CARDS WITH SEX AND CONTRACEPTION ADVICE TO 14-YEAR-OLDS

LOTHIAN, Scotland, Nov 14 (LSN.ca) - The Scottish pro-life group Parent Truth is fighting a sex-education initiative by the Scottish government which includes a plan to send 14-year-olds birthday cards containing sex and contraception advice. The government is targeting children in schools with graphic sex education and setting up teen sex clinics. The pro-lifers vowed to distribute 20,000 leaflets exposing health minister Susan Deacon as being "responsible for the filth that is going into schools". Malcolm Chisholm, the deputy health minister derisively dismissed the pro-life concerns saying, "We certainly do not want to get involved in a slanging match with people promoting a minority opinion."

BRITAIN'S UPPER HOUSE REJECTS LOWERING AGE OF HOMOSEXUAL SEX

LONDON, Nov 14 (LSN.ca) - Tony Blair's Labour Government in England is seething after their agenda to lower the age of consent for homosexual sex to 16 from 18 was thwarted for the third time in two years by the House of Lords. The Telegraph reports that yesterday the upper house effectively killed the bill by passing an amendment (205 to 144) which "allowed for the age of consent for buggery for both boys and girls to remain at 18, but allowed homosexual acts other than anal intercourse to be committed at 16". While a majority of the population is against lowering the age of consent, the Labour government is intent on passing the bill by the end of the year and will force it into law using the Parliament Acts which allow for an override of the House of Lords. Lady Young, the champion of the bill holding back homosexual imperialism told the Telegraph, "The Parliament Acts were intended for matters of great national constitutional importance, not for gay rights."

HOMOSEXUAL AND FEMINIST ACTIVISTS DISRUPT US CATHOLIC BISHOPS CONFERENCE

WASHINGTON, Nov 14 (LSN.ca) - The annual US Bishops conference was disrupted yesterday by homosexual activists who attempted to receive communion sacrilegiously. The group "Rainbow Sash" has organized activists to wear rainbow sashes and make a public spectacle over being denied Communion by priests. Prior to the Mass, attended by some 300 bishops, an announcement was made noting that the activists would not be allowed to receive communion. Another group of homosexual activists led by Dignity USA and Soulforce staged a quiet demonstration claiming that "the official teachings of the Roman Catholic church about sexual minorities lead to suffering and death," and accusing the Church of claiming to be "against violence but us(ing) the very hate language that causes it."

A feminist promoter of women's ordination was allowed into the bishop's conference posing as a reporter. At one point in the bishops' deliberations, Janice Sevre-Duszynska, accredited to the conference as a journalist, grabbed the microphone and demanded the bishops address the wrong done to "women called by God to ordination." The Washington Post reports that Sevre-Duszynska's action marked the first time a protester has interrupted a session of the bishops since the 1970s.

The Vatican blasted Germany's new law allowing homosexual marriage, saying no legislation could legitimize a "moral disorder." Father Gino Concetti, writing in the Vatican newspaper L"Osservatore Romano, said such laws "disfigure the divine project of matrimony, damage the family and produce negative effects on society and on new generations."
