COMBERMERE, Ontario, March 19, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A wise man once said: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” There is much truth in these words.
This truth of “being the change” is most relevant to the staff of LifeSiteNews (LSN), who report on and advocate for real marriage, the traditional family structure, the ending of abortion, and many other life and family issues.
We must be the change we wish to see in the world.
And here is why I love being part of the team at LSN: Everyone, without exception, lives the change we advocate for in all the stories and reports that we write.
No better testimony of this can be found than in the number of children spread throughout the continent that make up the extended LSN family.
The ten families that make up only a part of the entire LSN team currently have 41 children (39 born, 2 on the way). And that is only counting those living at home!
These children are being nurtured by loving parents who intimately know and understand the issues so that they and their children can be the change that our bleak society so desperately needs.
Just imagine: 41 children who will
- grow up learning that life is beautiful, from the moment of conception till natural death
- learn that marriage is God’s plan for nurturing a new human person
- learn to value persons for their inherent dignity
- learn to perceive hidden realities and that there is more to the world than what the eyes can see, the ears can hear, and the hand can touch
- learn that the greatest adversaries are overcome not through brute force, but through humble acts of faith, hope, and charity
It is true that some of these children may unfortunately not get ‘the message’ till after experiencing the shallowness and emptiness of an Augustinian rebellion.
But 41 children are also learning that the prodigal son and daughter is forever loved by God.
All the single people who engage in the work we do are no less important. They are the ones who make living the Christian teaching on chastity and purity look powerfully attractive. In living their call to holiness as single people, they show the world just what one person can do when God is on their side.
It has been said that demography wins the culture war.
When all the arguments, research papers, and journal articles about autonomy, rights, and ethics are finally said and done, it is the side with the greatest number of adherents that will win the day in our democratic nations that are no longer run by truth, but by politically correct ideologies.
The children in LSN families are like an army being raised to become the change our world needs. And with so many young families working on the team who are open to life, you can bet that with time, the ranks will only grow.
But training this army of children to be the future change, and doing likewise for the children of the many thousands of LifeSiteNews readers who similarly benefit from the powerful LSN mission, is something that we need your help with.
