NEW YORK, Feb 4 (LifeSiteNews) – Demonstrating that abortion practice is the bottom rung of the medical profession, Dr. Allan Zarkin, an Ob/Gyn was hired on as medical director of Choices Women’s Medical Center, an abortuary in Queens, just weeks after being fired for carving his initials into a patient’s stomach. Beth Israel Medical Center dismissed Zarkin after the carving incident, before which he was already being investigated for sexual harassment of patients.

Zarkin had worked part time for the abortuary prior to his dismissal from Beth Israel. The center’s director, Merle Hoffman, did not conduct a legally mandated inquiry on Zarkin.

Hoffman discovered Zarkin’s past when a letter arrived at the abortuary for Zarkin noting that he was being sued for $5.5 million for medical malpractice.  When Hoffman confronted Zarkin with the allegations, Zarkin admitted that he had carved his initials in his patient’s stomach after a Caesarean section.  Hoffman said that when she questioned Zarkin as to why he did it, Zarkin responded that “he thought he did such a beautiful job, he thought he should sign it.”
