TORONTO, August 24, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Pro-life organizations, media and Christian groups as well as Canadian religious leaders have endorsed this year’s Life Chain, the hour-long pro-life prayer and witness event that drew over 30,000 participants last year.

The list of the event’s official supporters includes Roman Catholic Bishop Nicola De Angelis of the Peterborough diocese, Archbishop Brendan O’Brien of the Kingston diocese and Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast. The president of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Bruce Clemenger, has also endorsed the event. In addition, the Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto, his Eminence Sotirios, advised that he would be issuing his official endorsement as well.

The Life Chain has also been endorsed by National Campus Life Network, Niagara Region Right to Life, Toronto Right to Life Association, Equipping Christians for the Public-Square, Teachers for Life and Salt and Light Television.

The annual Life Chain will take place this year in cities across Canada on September 30, while in the United States it remains the first Sunday in October. The event, which normally takes place on the same day across North America, has been rescheduled in Canada to avoid conflict with the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday (See https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/aug/07082105.html).
