TORONTO, Sept 29 (LSN) - Scientists at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto have discovered the gene believed to cause a severe form of epilepsy known as Lafora disease. The Toronto Sun reported today that one of the discoverers, Dr. Steve Scherer said that fetal screening for the gene would now be possible.
