TORONTO, Nov 19 (LSN.ca) - The Ontario government announced yesterday that former Citizenship Minister Isabel Bassett has been appointed Chair of the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVOntario). Records from Campaign Life Coalition Ontario indicate that Bassett is strongly pro-abortion and exerted much influence in that regard over the Ontario Conservative Party. Furthermore, in June, while still an elected official, Bassett promised to attend the Gay Pride Parade if she was able. She said “I have been on a float in the Gay Pride Parade for the last two years, if I’m free that day, I will go.” Bassett’s appointment has also brought accusations of nepotism by the opposition, who note that Bassett has been amorously involved with Ontario Finance Minister Ernie Eaves since his divorce.
