TORONTO, Oct 18 (LSN.ca) - LifeSite reported on Friday that Linda Gibbons, a grandmother who has spent most of the last 5 years behind bars for peacefully, quietly and prayerfully picketing outside a Toronto abortuary was arrested again. This time she was treated unusually harshly by police. Linda revealed on Saturday that she had been given no food or water for 24 hours after her arrest. Moreover she was forced to spend the night in a cell in a police station with only a metal bench to sleep on and she was given no pillow or blankets. Only after her court appearance Saturday and her transportation to a detention centre was she finally given food. The dedicated pro-lifer is in good spirits nonetheless. Eyewitnesses told LifeSite that she was also treated roughly at her arrest. Police handcuffed Linda behind her back and dragged her, one officer to an arm, across the street, face down with feet scraping the pavement. She was then forcefully thrown into a police car.
