Toronto Mayor and CBC Slam Christian Faith
TORONTO, Nov 8 (LSN.ca) - Canadian Alliance Leader Stockwell Day’s professed Christianity seems to be the catalyst for a rise in anti-Christian bigotry in recent days. Yesterday, in an interview with Sun Media’s editorial board, Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman said, “I’m afraid of the Alliance. I don’t know what this Alliance group is all about. I’m afraid of some of the things I hear ... This leader scares me - but only from what I’ve heard, only what I’ve read ... Maybe it’s his religious upbringing, I don’t know.” The attacks on Day’s Christian beliefs are set to continue today with CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster, set to release a special tonight called “The Fundamental Day,” supposedly examining the leader’s religious beliefs. The program will air on CBC’s The Magazine.
