LONDON, England, September 11, 2002 (LSN.ca) - Two Englishwomen initiated legal action to prevent their former partners from destroying their frozen fertilized embryos. Natallie Evans, 30, and Lorraine Hadley are going to London's High Court to challenge the law that says both parties must give their consent to storage and use of frozen embryos.
Ms. Evans put six frozen embryos in cold storage when her ovaries were removed in cancer surgery, while Ms. Hadley has two embryos in storage for an undisclosed reason. But their former partners don't want the embyros they conceived together to have a chance to live.
