OTTAWA, February 3, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On the very day on which Christian groups across Canada have agreed to promote traditional marriage, the country’s national broadcaster, the CBC, on its CBC News Sunday program, will do a one hour live broadcast of the homosexual ‘marriage’ of Douglass Drozdow-St. Christian (50) and Stephen Drozdow-St. Christian (33).  The move is yet another slap in the face to Christian groups by the national broadcaster which is notorious for its pro-abortion and pro-homosexual bias.  Numerous official complaints by the Catholic Civil Rights League to the CBC have resulted in little more than trite apologies where undeniable bias could be proven.

Unlike private broadcasters, the publicly funded CBC is mandated by broadcasting laws and orders to be unbiased.

The week of February 8-15 and February 15 specifically has been designated by a partnership between the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, among other groups, to proclaim the sanctity of marriage - as God designed it - between one man and one woman.  See more on the “Marriage on the Rock” week:  http://www.christianity.ca/family/marriage/ontherock
