OTTAWA, January 9, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A spokesman for Prime Minister Paul Martin told reporters yesterday he would reintroduce stem cell omnibus bill C-13. The bill will come back at the Senate stage having already passed the House. Even though the spokesman said the bill was a priority, he was unsure of its passage given the tight timeline prior to the election being called. "This one is also at the top of the list but there is a batting order," said Lague. "There is a timing issue. Your guess is as good as mine right now (whether it will pass)."
Alberta Alliance MP Grant Hill will be named interim leader of the new Conservative Party. Hill, a medical doctor is pro-life and pro-family and maintained clarity on his pro-family stand under media pressure.
