MADRID, September 20, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Spain’s Socialist government is set to bring in a bill to legalize same-sex “marriage” for the country October 1, according to a Socialist party leader at a rally Sunday. It would require parliamentary approval before becoming law.  Spain’s new Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, whose Socialists won the March election, pledged to legalize homosexual “marriage” the day he was raised to the office of Prime Minister of the country. He has also expressed a desire to ease Spain’s restrictions on abortion, and to end compulsory religious education in public schools.
