EDINBURGH, September 13, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Scottish Roman Catholic bishop has warned the ruling Labour party that their historic support from Catholic voters is nearing an end, citing as a reason the party’s support for same-sex unions.

“There’s no doubt Catholic support for Labour in Scotland is clearly waning,” said Bishop Philip Tartaglia of Paisley, according to a Scotsman.com report. He condemned Labour politicians for “running roughshod” over traditional family values while actively promoting their opposite: homosexual marriage.

“Catholics are tired of being bullied into accepting an intolerant new orthodoxy on issues such as homosexual unions while the family and marriage are constantly attacked by a very anti-family Labour party,” Bishop Tartaglia added.
