VANCOUVER, Aug 2 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The spiritual battle for life in Canada will receive a major boost with a prayer vigil outside Everywoman’s Health Centre (the abortion clinic) in Vancouver this Saturday led by Archbishop Adam Exner. Special prayer events led by prominent bishops outside abortuaries have regularly occurred often in the US but are quite rare in Canada.
In the US the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants has spearheaded the effort to involve Catholic hierarchy in leading prayerful vigils outside abortion centres. In June, LifeSite reported that Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago, led a prayer vigil for nearly 1,000 pro-lifers outside the Humbolt Park Centre abortuary.
In Vancouver this Saturday, the event will begin with Mass at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church at 1810 E7th Avenue at 9:00am. The group will then meet outside the 50-metre no-protest zone surrounding the centre where they will pray the Rosary.
