Updated Dec. 24
Dear Readers,
If the end of 2009 is any indication of what 2010 has in store, we need your help big time to prepare for the great challenges of the new year.
As 2010 approaches, Americans are waiting to find out if their tax dollars will fund abortions, among many other morally objectionable things, in the new health care bill.
Elsewhere, 88 pro-lifers are awaiting their sentencing for peacefully protesting Obama's involvement at the Catholic University of Notre Dame's commencement ceremony.
And just last week, the editor-at-large of one of Canada's biggest news services called for a global one-child policy; a logical conclusion in the minds of those who believe humans have equal or less dignity than the earth or animals, and a position undoubtedly discussed by those at the "climate change" conference in Copenhagen.
As a reader of LifeSiteNews, you know I could go on, but I'll save it for the news.
The attacks on the culture of life, and those who defend it, are happening on a global scale. And I, and the rest of the LSN staff will not allow you and the other defenders of life and family to fight the most important battle on earth without a bold and TRUTHFUL source of information.
LSN therefore will very soon release essential new developments to the website and emails.
Will you send us a Christmas gift for the 2009 year end to help fund these necessary improvements?
Our home page is being updated to more effectively meet the needs of our increasingly international audience. This means that the contents and order of our daily news reports and other items on our home page will differ depending on what country a reader is from. That way our readers can access the news most relevant to them the moment they visit LifeSiteNews.com or receive our daily news.
As well, soon after the update to the home page is complete, a dramatically new email format will finally be implemented. These emails will display the daily report in a more concise, user-friendly and attractive manner. Not only will our current audience appreciate this highly requested update, but it will also attract others to sign up for LSN emails.
These necessary major developments and additional ones to come require significant financial commitments. Will you help us improve LSN for the future by making a contribution today?
You know that LSN will continue to provide you with breaking, accurate and complete news on the most important issues. And you know that LSN will continue to assist you in acting against the pervasive evils in our culture. You have relied on us in the past to inform and activate you, and 2010 will be no different.
But right now, as we approach the New Year, we are relying on you to make our work possible.
With only $23,000 remaining to reach our necessary Christmas goal, LSN needs one last donation push from its readers. Whether it be $5 or $5000, please give what you can.
We are still praying for a $10,000 donation to fund the final phases of the above developments. At the same time, those who can afford smaller amounts can help us turn the "Remaining Donations Needed" column to zeros on the Suggested Donations Page. The recommended giving levels for many suggested donation amounts are close to being met.
And finally, this is all about life, family and supportive culture - not us. Christmas highlights the sacredness of human life as no other time of the year. It emphasizes the purpose of life and the reason that we all have a sacred obligation to speak out and defend the most innocent and defenseless who have been created for eternity.
The newborn infant Jesus, the Holy Family and the innocents slaughtered by King Herod tell us much about the significance of the struggle we are engaged in.
Whether you donate or not, we are above all thankful that you keep yourself informed by reading LifeSiteNews. Please encourage others to join you in this.
Have a happy and blessed Christmas,

P.S. For our US donors, you have only a few days before the end of the year to make a donation that will qualify your donation for tax deductibility for 2009. LifeSiteNews is a registered 501(c)(3) organization in the United States.
To our Canadian supporters we are not able to offer tax receipts for very good reason. The best explanation I can give you is to refer you to the legal opinion from our top legal firm on this issue. You will be shocked at some of what you read in that opinion. See it here.
