HOLLYWOOD, CA, June 15, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Cameron Diaz has said in an interview in the July issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, which comes out tomorrow, that “We don't need any more kids. We have plenty of people on this planet.”

Don Feder, from Demographic Winter, commented to LifeSiteNews that Diaz thinks there are too many people on the planet, “Because people in Hollywood, the people she works with, the people she associates with, the people she attends parties with, all the beautiful people have told her this.”

“Why do they believe it? Because they grew up in a culture that’s been telling them the same thing for forty years now,” Feder said.

He continued, asking rhetorically, “does she know that birth rates are below replacement in almost the entire industrialized world. Does she know that birth rates have fallen by 50% world wide in the last 30 years?”

“Of course she doesn’t. All she knows is [that] she hears that there are too many people.”

“She sees pictures of people in India or in Beijing or in Shanghai or wherever, and therefore she surmises that there are too many people. If you asked her how many people are enough people she probably couldn’t tell you,” he said.

Diaz has a history of anti-life statements. In 2004, Diaz spoke of the need for women to vote because “women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies [right to abortion].”

She continued, comparing losing the “right” to one’s body to legalizing rape.

“If you think that rape should be legal, then don’t vote. But if you think that you have a right to your body, and you have a right to say what happens to you and fight off that danger of losing that, then you should vote,” she said.
