OTTAWA, Ontario, July 19, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After one of the largest pro-life rallies Canada has ever seen, Campaign Life Coalition Youth has announced their second annual March for Life Viral Video contest winner: Micheline Brulotte of Quebec.

Brulotte, an actress from Montreal, was inspired to make her award-winning video to “show my family and friends the beauty of standing up for life, and to encourage them to have more reflection and dialogue on this issue.”

Since the launch of this Viral Video Contest in 2011, CLC Youth has garnered attention not only from the pro-life media, but secular publications as well. On a front page article in the Toronto Star in May, columnist Wendy Gillis wrote, “no longer just grey-haired activists holding signs outside abortion clinics, the pro-life movement has undergone a savvy, youthful makeover. Viral video contests, slick marketing campaigns, podcasts and Facebook groups fly in the face of assumptions that all young people lean left and that opposing abortion is antiquated.”

The contest, which encourages young people to make videos showing the March for Life through their own eyes, is just one of the many ways to attract young people to the pro-life movement.

For Brulotte, abortion affected her from a very young age. “When I was 13 years old, I found out my good friend was pregnant. My mother tried to influence my friend, through me, to keep the baby. Although she did not succeed, I understand now why my mom insisted so much,” noting that her mother Joanne, is one of her role models. “23 years ago my mother founded a Birthright chapter in Drummondville,” Brulotte told LifeSiteNews. “She is still the Director and very devoted to this cause.”

Brulotte strongly believes that the March for Life will awaken the consciences of the nation in Canada, and is proud she can make a difference too. “I will leave this world knowing I did my best. My dream is for everyone to feel the same way about this issue,” she said.
