Christiane Kittel, now 24, was said to be in a vegetative state and on life support, a condition which is sometimes declared hopeless and family members are often encouraged to “pull the plug” in such cases. However, news reports suggest that at the concert Kittel had a breakthrough and began to move slightly and call her mother’s name.
