The discovery was announced at the meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Atlanta on Monday.   Dr. Shunichiro Miyoshi reported that he and his colleagues at Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo had harvested stem cells from the blood of six women that originates in the endometrium.   When the cells were harvested and cultivated, the researchers were able to obtain about thirty times more stem cells from menstrual blood than from bone marrow, Miyoshi told Reuters Health.
