Josephine Johnston, a research associate with the department of bioethics at Dalhousie University is leading a project to survey Canada's 24 fertility clinics to determine the number of frozen embryos which could be handed over to scientists.Johnston says the researchers will inform the federal government of the number of embryos that will be available for 'research.' Ottawa is considering legalizing such research while banning the cloning of human embryos.
