BY LifeSiteNews.com LJUBLJANA, September 7, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Slovenian government is planning to legalize same-sex ‘marriage’ and adoption of children by same-sex couples, according to The Slovenian Civilian Initiative for Family and the Rights of Children (CIFRC).CIFRC president Ales Primc told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) that the proposed new Family Code bill is being pushed through the government's Labor, Family and Social Issues Committee without any public input. Primc said he himself was barred from attending the session of Parliament during which the controversial bill was discussed.A communiqué from Mr. Primc stated that "during the parliamentary session on 29th of June, Chairwoman Ms. Andreja Crnak Meglic prohibited in an openly discriminatory manner Mr. Primc from attending, let alone participating in, any sessions of the Family, Labor and Social Issues Committee.  While numerous homosexual organizations have been granted access and permitted to participate, Mr. Primc was barred from expressing any arguments on behalf of family values.""The proposed bill has been met with an overwhelming grassroots opposition on the part of the Slovenian democratic body politic," Mr. Primc observed.In response to what Mr. Primc calls the heavy-handed approach of the "left-of-center and ex-communist governing coalition" led by Danilo Turk, president of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, prime minister, and Pavel Gantar, president of the Parliament, all of whom support the new Family Code bill, the 60,000-strong Civilian Initiative for Family and the Rights of Children was formed to "wage a public campaign to preserve family values and the right of every child to a father and mother.""More than 70% of the citizens of Slovenia support and advocate the preservation of the natural and human right of the child to have mother and father," said Primc. But "confronted with an ever increasing public opposition, the committee chairwoman, owing to her inflexible viewpoint, has adopted a strongly biased and discriminatory attitude against the representatives of pro-family organizations."
