BY LifeSiteNews.com COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, September 4, 2002 (LSN.ca) - University of Maryland freshmen are being assigned to read a play about a homosexual college student. Officials are distributing 10,000 copies of “Laramie Project,” a play based on the 1998 death of student Matthew Shepard—elevated by activists to the status of a gay martyr—to all incoming freshmen.  “This book can be used to look at the issue of hate crimes and healing particularly after September 11,” alleged spokesman Dave Ottalini.
