BY LifeSiteNews.com ROME, September 16, 2004 (CWNews.com/LifeSiteNews.com) - Cardinal Renato Martino has denounced the involvement of UN agencies in promoting abortion, pointing out that this policy violated the agreement struck by UN member-states at the Cairo Conference of 1994. The president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace told the Italian daily Avvenire that the UN member-states have a duty to restrain the activities of agencies such as the UN Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), and to control the expenditures of UN funds.
