December 8, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After excitedly announcing last month that she and her husband Jim Bob were expecting their 20th child, Michelle Duggar has learned that she has lost the child to a miscarriage.
The Duggars went to a routine doctor’s appointment to find out the sex of the child, where the doctor was unable to find a heartbeat, reports People.com.
“After the appointment, we came back home and told the children,” Michelle said. “We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad disappointment.”
The grieving mother said that the family is planning on choosing a name for the child, and holding a funeral service.
“I feel like my heart broke telling my children,” Michelle said. “They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult. The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him.”
People reports that this is Michelle’s second miscarriage. She miscarried during her second pregnancy.
