ROUND ROCK, TX, March 27, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Texas judge this morning gave a man a second chance at life, granting temporary custody to his parents instead of his estranged wife.

Terry Andrew Mace of Colorado was working in Texas on March 6 when he had a heart attack. He was rushed to Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock and placed on a ventilator and feeding tube.

Last Saturday his wife, Yvonne, ordered all life-sustaining treatment ended. But Yvonne and her husband had not lived together in four years and were in the process of filing for divorce.

On Monday, Judge John B. McMaster of the Williamson County Court of Law granted a temporary restraining order to Mace's parents, who were represented by the Texas Center for Defense of Life (TCDL).

On Thursday morning, he granted Terry Mace Sr. temporary custody of his son for 60 days. Yvonne Mace did not contest the ruling; her attorney did not appear at the hearing at 9 a.m.

“TCDL obtained another victory for LIFE today in the Texas courts!” TCDL President Greg Terra said. “Terry Mace Jr. now has another chance at life.”

Terra ended by pleading, “Please pray that he will regain consciousness and make a full recovery.”
