‘Mother,’ ‘Father’ Changing to ‘Parent One,’ ‘Parent Two’ on Passport Applications
– Fox
The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, the State Department says. A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.” Gay rights groups are applauding the decision.

GOPer calls Obama administration ‘corrupt’
– CNN
The incoming House Oversight and Government Reform chairman on Sunday tried to clarify his recent remarks to Rush Limbaugh where he called President Obama “one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times.” Rep. Darrell Issa said he meant to say the Obama administration instead of the president.

Obamacare stops construction at 45 physician owned hospitals nationwide – American Thinker
This little-noticed but particularly egregious aspect of Obamacare is, by all accounts, a concession to the powerful American Hospital Association (AHA), a supporter of Obamacare, which prefers to have its member hospitals operate without competition from hospitals owned by doctors.

House GOP plans two-pronged assault on health law
– Politico
The new Republican-controlled House plans to schedule a vote to repeal the sweeping health care overhaul before President Barack Obama delivers his annual State of the Union address late this month, incoming House Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) said Sunday.

Upton, whose committee will play a key role in the GOP’s effort to roll back the law, said that he believes the House may be near the two-thirds majority required to override a presidential veto. “If we pass this bill with a sizeable vote, and I think that we will, it will put enormous pressure on the Senate to do perhaps the same thing,” he said. “But then, after that, we’re going to go after this bill piece by piece.”

Pence: Catholic-Bashing Obama Adviser Must Go

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) said the white House needs to remove anti-Catholic adviser Harry Knox and that retaining him this long was “absurd” and an “offence to Americans of faith”

It’s the Chicago Way or No Way at This White House
– GOP USA
Get a load of this. William J. Daley, as in the Chicagoland smoke-filled back room political doubledealing dynasty Daleys (not to be confused with the conservative Dalys who spell their names correctly), is rumored to be under consideration for a top spot in the Obama White House. Daley has been toiling at JP Morgan, land of bailout billions.  Guess we know how that deal worked out for JP Morgan. So it will be just like Rahm Emanuel never left.

Is the U.S. Government Promoting Homosexuality Overseas?
– American Spectator
Clinton said the State Department is supporting efforts to advance homosexual rights around the world. “We celebrate the progress of advancing the rights of LGBT [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender] in our country, as we continue to advance the rights of all people around the world,”

Will Obama Be a One-Term President? By Jack Kerwick – American Thinker
Assuming that the Republicans are successful in impeding the president’s leftist agenda—an achievement that can’t fail to mark an improvement in the nation’s welfare – it is nothing less than a foregone conclusion that the narcissistic Obama, like his equally self-obsessed predecessor, Bill Clinton, will take credit for it.  Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and—of all people!—Newt Gingrich, to identify just some of the more popular names, are to a man (and woman) deeply flawed candidates. My hunch is that either the Republicans resoundingly repudiate the “Compassionate Conservatism” of Bush 43, or else their battle for the White House in 2012 promises to be uphill.
