OTTAWA, July 18, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The youth wing of Campaign Life Coalition has released an open letter in video form calling out Justin Trudeau after the pro-abortion Liberal leader tweeted a photo of himself with Pope John Paul II.
Trudeau put out the tweet on June 12 to state his support of Bill C-266, which seeks to declare April 2, the day of the Pope's death, as Pope John Paul II Day in Canada.
The bill, put forward by Tory MP Wladyslaw Lizon, passed the House of Commons that day in a vote of 216 to 42.
The photo that Trudeau tweeted depicts him as a child standing in front of the late Pope with his father, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, and a Canadian delegation.

In the video, CLC Youth activist Sharon Milan says that given his support of Pope John Paul II, “I would have assumed that you would support his efforts to promote a culture of life.”
“However, you have stated that you are willing to break up the country over abortion and same-sex 'marriage' and have indicated that all Liberals must support the right to choose abortion,” Milan says. “It seems in conflict with the clear values of John Paul the Great, the man you seem to admire.”
"As a young Catholic, I would like to know how you reconcile these two positions,” she adds.
Pope John Paul II was beatified on May 1, 2011, and the Vatican has said he will be canonized in the near future after certifying a second miracle ascribed to his intercessions.
