“The worst attack…ever.” That’s what Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards recently called the all-out effort to defund the abortion giant. And it’s true. Never in its 95-year history has Planned Parenthood been this vulnerable.
Following Live Action’s extraordinary success in exposing the abortion giant’s willingness to aid and abet sex traffickers, individuals and grassroots organizations across the United States have demanded answers. At the same time pro-life Congressmen have gone into high gear to pull the plug on the hundreds of millions of dollars annual funding that Planned Parenthood has been receiving from the federal government – that is, from the taxpayers who have had no say in this – until now.
Since these dramatic events began to unfold back in early February, LifeSiteNews has been there at the forefront, bringing the world timely and accurate updates.
As a member of the “Expose Planned Parenthood Coalition,” along with dozens of the top pro-life organizations in the U.S., LifeSiteNews has been privy to the strategizing of the pro-life movement on this most important issue, and we have been able to keep our readers up to speed, telling them exactly where they are needed and just how they can make a difference.
But even as the abortion giant has come under attack, Planned Parenthood and Cecile Richards have been relentless in their defense; they will not go down without a fight.
Planned Parenthood has labeled the attempt to defund it “the most dangerous legislative assault on women’s health.”
After the U.S. House passed the bill to ban federal funding of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards sent out an emergency appeal stating, “It was a frightening show of just how far extreme anti-choice members of Congress are willing to go in their effort to eliminate Planned Parenthood.”
Richards called for Planned Parenthood supporters to “stand up for the truth” while attacking the “anti-choice extremists” who “want to take away women’s healthcare.”
But Richards and Planned Parenthood didn’t stop there.
Last week, Lila Rose and former Colorado Representative Marilyn Musgrave launched a 2,000-mile “Defund Planned Parenthood” bus tour. Immediately Planned Parenthood organized its own “Truth Tour,” which, not coincidentally, followed the exact same route as the pro-life tour. That’s desperation or just plain intimidation tactics.
But while Planned Parenthood has been utilizing scare tactics and casting aspersions, the pro-life movement has responded with love. During a rally in support of Planned Parenthood in Chicago, a joyful pro-life “flash mob” showed up, full of happy and singing youth carrying yellow balloons, who together prayed and affirmed the value of all human life. Just another example of the “anti-choice extremist” movement.
Although the U.S. Senate rejected the bill to defund Planned Parenthood on March 9, pro-life advocates are far from giving up their effort to stop abortion in America and to put the country’s top abortion organization out of business.
Now is the time to keep the pressure on. Planned Parenthood is not tiring in the fight to ensure that we, the taxpayers, pay for them to take advantage of vulnerable mothers and to kill millions of our unborn brothers and sisters, and neither must we.
While Planned Parenthood calls its supporters to “stand for truth,” LifeSiteNews urges its readers to do the same -onlyour understanding of “truth” is drastically different from Planned Parenthood’s.
And there are millions of “anti-choice extremists” all over the world who share our idea of truth.

P.S. Cecile Richards opened one of her emergency appeal letters warning her supporters that “They’ve spread lies about Planned Parenthood health centers online, on the airwaves, and in the halls of Congress – and now they’re showing up in communities across the country.
