MADINA, Ghana, September 4, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – A hidden video camera placed by a well-known journalist has caught an abortionist raping 52 women at his clinic in Ghana, according to local media.

Ghanian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas reportedly disguised himself as a clinic worker to set up a hidden camera in the town of Madina, where he captured one abortionist sexually assaulting dozens of women aged 20 to 40 over a three month period.

The Ghanian news outlet News One claims to have seen the video, and reports that it will be aired on Multi TV’s Joy News Channel tomorrow.

The name of the doctor, who charged women between 150 to 400 Cedis ($155 to $207 U.S.) for their abortions, and his clinic has not yet been revealed.

The journalist allegedly behind the video was once praised by President Barack Obama for his truthfulness.

Obama praised Anas by name when he spoke to Ghana’s parliament in 2009, saying he saw Ghana’s “democratic spirit…in courageous journalists like Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who risked his life to report the truth,” after Anas had exposed the sexual trafficking of Chinese nationals in Ghana.

If the story is true, the African abortionist would join a long list of first-world abortion providers accused or convicted of sexually exploiting their patients.

In 2003, a jury convicted Phoenix abortionist Dr. Brian Finkel of 24 counts of sexually abusing his patients while they were sedated. He faced 67 counts and, in the words of his prosecutors, an “avalanche of evidence.”

In 2005, two women accused Detroit-area abortionist Dr. Rodolfo Finkelstein of sexual assault. However, prosecutors believe Finkelstein fled to Argentina to avoid his day in court.

Los Angeles abortion worker Laurence Reich served 10 years probation in 1984 for fondling his victims before, during, and after abortions. Then in 2006, he surrendered his medical license after being convicted of two additional assault counts – but continued performing abortions until his employer’s clinic was raided in 2008.

Dr. Narendra Sharma, an anesthetist at a Manchester, England, Marie Stopes clinic had faced several rounds of charges he abused his patients. The prosecution stated Sharma “was using the hand of this semi-conscious patient undertaking this procedure for his own sexual stimulation and gratification.” However, authorities said the prosecution failed to prove its case. Sharma claimed he was a victim of racism.

Portions of Anas’ captured video will air on Multi TV’s Joy News Channel Wednesday night.
