SAN FRANCISCO, January 24, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Walk for Life West Coast is demanding to be seen and heard and in the mainstream media. This year, Walk for Life organizers are asking participants to take to the “twittersphere” to “end the media blackout.”

Saturday will be the tenth year pro-lifers have taken to the streets of San Francisco and, year after year, Walk organizers have noticed a reliable lack of media coverage, especially in the local media. However, they have also noticed the increasing youthfulness of the crowd, and their social media accounts.

So this year, when 50,000 smart-phone-toting pro-life activists descend upon the city, organizers will be asking them to tweet pictures of the events with the official event hashtag #WalkForLife and to include @CNN, @FoxNews, @USAToday, and local news outlets @sfchronicle, @abc7newsBayArea, @nbcbayarea, and @KTVU.

Event organizers will also be posting comments and pictures throughout Saturday’s event at facebook.com/WalkforLifeWC. They are inviting people who are not in attendance to share those posts with their friends.

Whether or not mainstream news outlets are present, LifeSiteNews.com has a team of journalists at the Walk for Life West Coast this year to bring you the coverage you desire. LifeSiteNews.com was conceived due to a dearth of media coverage of pro-life and pro-family news. We are committed to integrity in bringing our readers relevant and timely news.
