December 17, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com)—Pam Stenzel, who was conceived in rape, has said people like her do not deserve to be aborted because of the way they were conceived in a powerful new video posted online today.
With a tone of gratitude and defiance, Stenzel thanks her biological mother, who gave birth to her after being raped at age 15. The teen then placed her with an adoptive family. She was the oldest of eight, seven of them adopted, “all colors of the rainbow.”
“My biological father is a rapist,” she says. “I don’t even know my ethnicity. But I am still a human being and I still have value. My life isn’t worth any less than yours just because of the way I was conceived. And I don’t believe I deserve the death penalty, because of the crime of my biological father.”
The emotional video ends with Stenzel wishing she could thank her mother for the life she enjoyed with her new family and the gift of life itself.
“I know that those two gifts were a gift from a very scared 15-year-old,” she said.
Abortion became legal nationwide after Norma McCorvey falsely claimed she was raped while filing the Roe v. Wade lawsuit.
Sen. John McCain and former Secretary of State Colin Powell recently announced their support an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill that would provide taxpayer funding for abortions for enlisted women who say they were impregnated through rape.
The debate over abortion in the case of rape has remained in the headlines following a contentious, some say mendacious fall campaign fueled by charges of insensitivity to women.
The media excoriated U,S. Senate candidates Todd Akin of Missouri and Richard Mourdock of Indiana for comments on the subject.
A 1996 study found half of all mothers who are raped choose to give birth to their babies.
