July 3, 2013 (STOPP) – Planned Parenthood took center stage in the Texas legislature last week as its head, Cecile Richards, flew into Austin, inciting the mob that took over the gallery of the Texas senate.

As the pro-abortion crowd grew more and more raucous and unruly in the final minutes of the last special legislative session, and with the pro-abortion crowd already at fever pitch in an attempt to shut down the legislative process, Richards egged on the hateful thuggery as she tweeted, “Make some noise—louder!” Immediately after her tweet, another member of her delegation started encouraging the mob to rush the floor of the senate in order to stop the passage of the pending bill.

“We had terrorist[s] in the Texas state senate opposing SB 5,” Senator Bill Zedler later tweeted. He added, “The pro-abortion crowd turned the Texas senate chamber [into] ‘Occupy Wall Street.’” He then wrote, “Disruptive behavior of pro-abortion crowd was encouraged by some Texas House Democrats.”

It came to light Tuesday that there was an ad running on Austin Craig’s List seeking to hire pro-abortion activists in the Texas state capital. The ad was removed from Craig’s List when it was discovered and publicized in pro-life circles.

Townhall.com writer Katie Pavlich wrote about the ad that offered to pay $1300 to $2200 per month to activists who are working “right now” to “keep birth control affordable,” “oppose attacks on women’s health,” “ensure healthcare access,” and “expand global reproductive rights.” When Pavlich called to inquire about the ad, she was told this campaign is directly working with Planned Parenthood to bolster its efforts.

Planned Parenthood, rich to the point of bursting with billions of taxpayer dollars, can well afford to hire thousands of protesters to take control of the special legislative session. Meanwhile, Cecile Richards was on MSNBC talking up the protests that she says are taking place because “the bills are so extreme and unpopular.” She claimed there were 5,000 protestors present on Monday, but of course made no mention that Planned Parenthood is actually hiring radical pro-aborts to protest and disrupt the legislative process via mob tactics.

More and more, Planned Parenthood is revealing its ugly underside, as it becomes increasingly strident in attempts to protect its abortion and birth control business and force its agenda on all Americans. More and more, the abortion giant overrules the will of the people through judicial and political maneuvering, as it incites hatred and chaos through incendiary rhetoric and force, aided and abetted by the U.S. government.

Cecile Richards, for her part, has transformed her eugenics-based organization from one that thrived largely because of its ability to hide and spread its poison in the dark shadows, to one that has no qualms about very visibly seizing control by any means necessary. In fact, it has just issued a white paper, appropriately named Taking Control, which is a case study in how the abortion giant moves about freely today cloaked in deception, working hand in hand with the government to force its agenda on the unwilling.

Planned Parenthood—with a hard-to-shake reputation as a sleazy store-front located in a bad part of town that dispenses birth control and abortions—is now a major political force in the United States, in fulfillment of a promise made by Richards when she took over leadership of the nation’s largest abortion chain in February of 2006.

In November 2006, writing for The Nation, Jennifer Baumgardner quoted Richards’ remarks from a June 2006 address: “We have the potential to swing the vote in 2006, 2008 and 2010, and that’s a lot of power. The question is, What are we going to do with it? And the answer is, We’re going to use it. We’re going to marry our current reality as the largest reproductive healthcare provider in this country with our opportunity to be the largest kickass advocacy organization in the country.”

Turning common sense upside down, she claimed all this political power would be unleashed “so that healthcare can become less politicized.”

The daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards, Cecile came to Planned Parenthood thoroughly steeped in political activism and strategy and fully-wired with political connections that would set the stage for the placement of a contraception free-for-all at the very center of the political scene. She would fabricate an imaginary war on women and create a false paradigm of basic medical facts, using that and her considerable political capital to strip the rights of religious freedom from millions and place our young people in harm’s way like never before.

Planned Parenthood today spends millions to elect candidates who make that happen. The political arm of Planned Parenthood takes credit for electing a plethora of Democrat candidates, all of whom pass Planned Parenthood’s contraception and abortion litmus tests. In fact, in the last presidential election cycle, Planned Parenthood Action Fund spent $5.3 million opposing Republican candidates and $1.5 million in support of Democrat candidates. It spent $0 in supporting Republican candidates and $0 in defeating Democrat candidates.

Planned Parenthood takes credit for reelecting President Barack Obama, who has never wavered in repaying Planned Parenthood’s support of him by treating the organization and its agenda like the goose that laid the golden egg, and placing Cecile Richards among his most trusted advisors.

Today, we see the sour fruits of her political savvy and ruthless approach, as we watch Planned Parenthood taking over the Texas capital by mob rule. In fact, President Obama is reported to have personally joined in tweeting support for the mob takeover of last month’s special legislative session, saying, “Something special is happening in Austin tonight. #StandWithWendy.”

American Life League encourages pro-life supporters to go to Austin to counter Planned Parenthood’s nationwide surge that is focused in the Lone Star state. Pro-life advocates must be very visible in order to counter Planned Parenthood’s paid political agitators. At the following links, both Texas Alliance for Life and Texas Right to Life are publicizing current information about when and where pro-life presence will be needed.
