The federal legislation on stem cell research incorporates the funding guidelines issued by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canada’s major federal funding agency for health research. All federally-funded researchers and medical schools in Canada are monitored by rules set down by medical ethics committees.  This includes all research funded by The Arthritis Society.
