MELBOURNE, Australia (LifeSiteNews) — Surgeons in Australia accidentally killed an unborn baby while performing a mutilating transgender surgery on the child’s mother. The disturbing story shines a spotlight on one of the most extreme outcomes of rejecting biological reality and triggered derision from social media users who blasted media outlets for referring to the pregnant mother as “him.”
Melbourne’s 3AW reported that Jesse Pohlner, a 38-year-old woman who believes she is a man, went to Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia for an elective hysterectomy in 2021.
Unbeknown to Pohlner or her surgeons, however, the gender-confused woman was four months’ pregnant at the time.
She said physicians did not run any tests to ascertain whether she was pregnant before ripping out her female reproductive system because “we had no signs that I was pregnant. I thought I was having reflux and it turned out that it was morning sickness,” The Daily Mail reported.
“I would call it hospital negligence. Their policy was to blame,” Pohler said. “The policy let my doctors down. They couldn’t perform their best work.”
The Daily Mail, whose report repeatedly referred to Pohlner as “he” and “Mr. Pohlner,” even using such phrases as “his womb and ovaries,” reported that the anticipated three-hour surgery “turned into a nine-hour surgery and a week in intensive care.”

The morning after the hysterectomy, doctors notified the mother that she had been pregnant with an unborn child and that the baby was dead.
“It was pretty shocking news,” Pohlner said.
While the accidental abortion took place in 2021, the news has earned headlines now because Pohler is advocating for mandatory hCG blood testing that would flag previously unnoticed pregnancies ahead of surgeries.
“I don’t want it to happen to someone else,” Pohlner said. “I don’t want it to happen to a patient or a doctor to have to go through that.”
The Daily Mail reported that it reached out to the Royal Women’s Hospital for comment and was told the hospital “changed its pre-op pregnancy test procedure last year.”
A spokeswoman for the hospital said the “new procedure involves a blood test to exclude pregnancy,” but added that “[p]atients can opt out of this procedure if they choose.’
Social media users reacting to the story online were quick to berate the media for referring to the gender-confused female as “he.”

Meanwhile, the tragic loss of Pohlner’s unborn child isn’t the only horrific outcome of gruesome transgender procedures to have been reported in recent years.
In 2017, a 25-year-old Georgia woman who believed herself to be a man died after getting an elective hysterectomy to finish her attempted “gender transition.” After the procedure, she went into septic shock and lost oxygen to her brain, culminating in her death.

In 2020, a young English woman began suffering from vaginal atrophy after undergoing a host of destructive surgeries to make herself look more like a man — and her story is not uncommon.
Many young women who have “detransitioned” have fought to make their voices heard in recent years to warn other gender-confused individuals and society in general about the persistent and debilitating physical and emotional harms they have endured since electing to butcher their bodies.
“I realized the beauty of motherhood was stolen from me by medical professionals who my family entrusted me to,” said detransitioner Chloe Cole, who has subsequently filed a lawsuit against the doctors who cut off her healthy breasts when she was just 15 years old. “I realized that I wanted to be what I always was, and forever will be: a woman.”
In addition to the fact that so-called “gender-affirming surgery” asserts a false reality that one’s sex can be changed, long-term studies do not support the claim that destructive “gender-affirming” drugs and surgeries benefit the mental health of their recipients, something advocates frequently allege without evidence. With regard to young people, research indicates that some 80 percent of children suffering from gender dysphoria will naturally outgrow it by late adolescence.
