ATHENS, Greece, Feb 9 (LifeSiteNews.com)  Last Friday the Greek Orthodox Church reiterated its position against pre-marital sex. The Holy Synod which governs Greek Orthodox Church affairs said it would publish an encyclical reaffirming the church’s teaching in this regard.

Two days before the church’s announcement the results of an American study on cohabitation hit the press. Rutgers University sociologist David Popenoe co-authored the study that notes that living together while not married nearly doubles the risk of wife-battery and child abuse and accounts for lower “happiness levels” compared to married couples.
