'It’s pretty apparent from the speakers that the panels are by and large liberals sympathetic to moving this technology forward,' says David Prentice of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute.
“We are the pioneers of abuses of unborn children like legalised abortion, IVF and genetic screening,” lamented Paul Tully of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children.
Critics warn the technology “could also be used by polygamous or polyamorous ‘families’ to ‘create’ children biologically-related to all the adults involved in the relationship.”
The members called the practice of “germ-line” genetic tampering with embryos incompatible with human dignity and international law, labeling it a “eugenic practice.”
