WASHINGTON, D.C., May 18, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — Pro-abortion advocates have joined the pile-on over misrepresented comments President Donald Trump made this week about illegal immigration, providing one of the most striking displays yet of the abortion lobby’s double standards.
On Wednesday, the White House hosted a roundtable discussion on illegal immigration, during which Trump was asked a question about the notorious international street gang MS-13.
MS-13 is an organization spanning several Central and South American countries, and is believed to have as many as 10,000 members operating in the United States. The gang is most well known for its extreme brutality, including mutilation, public execution, rape, and decapitation.
“You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals,” the president said during his answer. The Associated Press, Politico, the New York Times, USA Today, the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, and others falsely presented the remarks as calling immigrants as a group “animals.”
The White House has forcefully hit back against the coverage, and some have since corrected their headlines. But others still take issue with Trump for “dehumanizing” MS-13 members, including a number who reject the humanity of preborn children.
“Immigrants are people,” the Planned Parenthood Action Fund tweeted Wednesday, and NARAL attacked Trump for supposedly neglecting the fact that immigrants “are human beings” who “deserve dignity and respect” rather than “dehumanizing” rhetoric.
Immigrants are people. They are our neighbors, our friends, and members of the Planned Parenthood family.
One hateful man will never, ever speak for all of us. https://t.co/RqoinX3GbW

WOW.
Immigrants are human beings and vital members of our communities who deserve dignity and respect – not dehumanizing, racist rhetoric. https://t.co/NUi8tShrFU

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a vehement abortion supporter known for inflammatory rhetoric, made the comparison even more overt by asking whether Trump “believe(s) in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person.”
Unbelievable… Pelosi straight up defending MS-13.
“Does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person? Calling people animals is not a good thing.” pic.twitter.com/t9uuAzKuE2

Other media figures doubled down on similar objections:
Trump is in very bad company.
Nazis referred to Jews as “rats”.
Slave-owners viewed slaves as sub-human animals. https://t.co/HMXDWSrNRu— Ana Navarro (@ananavarro) May 17, 2018
however repugnant their actions, MS-13 gang members are human beings IMHO

Long-settled biological criteria accepted in numerous mainstream science and medical textbooks establishes that a distinct, living human being exists once conception has occurred. Yet Planned Parenthood denies life begins at conception through its leaders’ public statements and educational materials, and NARAL declares it “extremist” to affirm that life begins at conception.
Pelosi, meanwhile, has falsely claimed that the Catholic faith to which she claims membership has “not been able to” determine when life begins, and she has refused to answer whether fetuses as old as 20 weeks are human beings.
Numerous social media users have taken them to task for their hypocrisy:
Babies are people. They are our neighbors, our friends, and members of the family.
One hateful organization will never, ever speak for all of them. Or us. https://t.co/P1eF3z4HRx

Wait a second @PPact. So you are telling me that we can't just declare other humans to not be persons? That's how it works now? #IronyIsThick https://t.co/QjJi2F8Xcr

don't the unborn deserve a little dignity and respect too? Talk about dehumanizing.

Except people that are in the womb, she means.

Except for the pre-born human… No spark there… But MS-13… They sparkle!https://t.co/b1Y5XkWLHN

Nancy Pelosi on MS-13:
“There's a spark of divinity in every person* on Earth.”
* Planned Parenthood human remains not included.
