WASHINGTON, D.C., April 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Americans will hold a vigil in support of Alfie Evans outside the British embassy in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m.

“We are gathering together at the British Embassy to pray and stand in solidarity with Alfie Evans and his family,” organizer Rev. Patrick Mahoney told LifeSiteNews. “We want to be a loud public voice that parents know what is best for their children more than government bureaucrats.”

He also said the event will convey that “the disabled community deserves equal rights and protection.”

Mahoney is a human rights activist with decades of experience.

In a new video, Alfie’s father Thomas Evans says Alder Hey Children’s Hospital wouldn’t do to an animal what they are doing to Alfie.

“It’s disgusting how they treating us, they're starving him, they wouldn’t do this to an animal,” he said.

Alder Hey’s removal of Alfie’s ventilator didn’t result in him dying, which the hospital and courts said would happen. Now the hospital won’t let the toddler, breathing on his own, be transported to another facility or even go home with his parents. They are refusing to feed him.

Bambino Gesu hospital in Rome has said it will accept Alfie, now an Italian citizen thanks to that country’s diplomatic efforts to save the baby’s life. An Italian medical evacuation team is available to take him to Italy.

The British embassy to the United States is located at 3100 Massachusetts Ave NW. The pro-Alfie event will take place on public property.
