IRVINE, California, August 16, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-life undercover investigators responsible for exposing Planned Parenthood’s fetal organ harvesting activities are fighting to release even more videos, the group’s leader revealed Tuesday.
Center for Medical Progress (CMP) founder David Daleiden told reporters in a conference call that they are seeking to have the court lift an injunction against the release of as many as a dozen undercover videos, PJ Media reports.
The National Abortion Federation (NAF) is currently suing Daleiden on claims related to recording “confidential” communications, as well as to suppress the release of future videos. NAF dropped seven out of its eleven claims in July, and now CMP has filed motions in San Francisco federal court to invalidate the remaining four, as well as the gag order.
“You can expect probably a solid dozen more videos, really in the same vein as the original undercover video releases,” Daleiden said. “This undercover footage has not seen the light of day. It includes some of the most damning and incriminating tapes that we ever recorded” about “the sale of aborted baby parts.”
If his latest motions are successful, Daleiden predicted that the videos would be released as early as October, the Washington Examiner adds. That would make their revelations a last-minute factor in the midterm congressional elections, further intensifying a political battle in which an impending addition to the Supreme Court has already given abortion a central role.
Daleiden further explained that these latest videos were not released prior to the gag order because CMP organized the releases to best educate the public about the formerly-obscure practice of fetal tissue harvesting.
In 2014 and 2015, Daleiden and other pro-life investigators had posed as representatives of a fetal tissue procurement company to attend abortion industry meetings, in which Planned Parenthood and NAF officials made a variety of shocking statements about the sale of organs from aborted babies. CMP began releasing undercover videos of their findings in the summer of 2015, sparking an ongoing national scandal.
Planned Parenthood and its defenders claim that CMP’s videos were “deceptively edited,” and that there is no evidence Planned Parenthood broke any laws. In fact, the videos show Planned Parenthood officials making multiple references to illegal practices, including a desire to profit off of fetal organs on top of cost reimbursement, performing federally-prohibited partial-birth abortions, and altering abortion procedures in order to procure intact organs.
Additionally, the videos revealed abortion industry insiders discussing their practice with callous and shocking language, including admissions that their business is “killing,” complaints about how “difficult” it is to tear fetuses apart, and references to “heads that get stuck that we can’t get out.”
Several state-level investigations purported to give Planned Parenthood a clean bill of health, though neither the Obama administration nor the state of California (where most of the incriminating footage was captured) ever investigated. The Trump Department of Justice saw fit to open an investigation into the matter last year, but has not updated the public on its findings since.
